The Catcher in the Sky

Ciao!
Come posso fare? Lol

Hello!
Today I'd like to show you a card I made for the new challenge at Deep Ocean . This time the theme is "Butterflies"... wonderful theme for a cardmaker!
You usually use butterflies all over the card, 'cause they match with the most of the images and designs.
But this time I tried something unusual for me, and I decided to use an Edwin image of an old Magnolia collection. I very rarely make masculine card as they must be more plain in embellishments and colours... and without flowers! How can I do? Lol.
Anyway I thought that this image fits with our challenge theme wery well so I've made a card with very little embellishments and I used only few flowers in order to show a field. The patterned paper and the big butterfly die are also Magnolia, all the other butterflies are punched with Martha Stewart's punches.
For the sentiment I took inspiration from the title of the wonderful J.D. Salinger's novel "The Catcher in Rye", I really LOVE this novel, and going on with the card I decided to use it changing the word Rye with Sky, quite similar in sound, at least for an Italian, and more suitable for little Edwin. Moreover  I changed a round spring sentiment by Whimsy with an homemade sentiment "Dare to dream", which give better the whole bit idea .
Did I do the right thing? Really I don't Know, anyway here it is my card...

Stamps: Magnolia "Chasing Edwin ", sentiment homemade
Paper/Cardstock: Magnolia paper, cardstock from my own stuff
Embellishments: Wild Orchid Crafts: flowers and metal corner; Glimmer mist: Dazzling Diamonds
Colouring/Ink: Copic markers, Distress Ink: Vintage Photo
Other: Martha Stewart butterfly punch;  Magnolia DooHickey's "Butterfly" and "Lovely Fence".

Good luck with our challenge and don't forget to have a look here  to the gorgeous inspiration from the other fabulous DT members as well...
